As I woke up this morning
I discovered I could read other people's minds
A woman greeted me with a big smile
But in her heart she wished I'd died
I saunter down the path of dawn
I could hear whispers across their walls
A man is contemplating suicide
A kid is planning to run away
A lady wants to get rid of the unborn
A husband is thinking of divorce
Someone is plotting his friend's murder
Though their lips were still in silence
Yet their hearts were ranting with noise
Under the amaranth tree of love
Two lovers were lost in deep embrace
Wow, this is heaven on earth
But the rumblings of their hearts baffled me
The lady do not even love him
And she didn't know how to say it
That it is his money she wants
No need young lady
This guy too is just sticking around
Because you've not seen his inner chamber
I know how these things ends
It ends in heartbreaks and pains
God, I can't just be God!
Hearing the lies in our laughters
Seeing the wickedness in our smiles
Priests of hypocrisies
A nation peopled by pretenders
If I am God
Though the race of mankind may face extinction
Yet I will strike all the liars down
This is why I can't be God
Take then from me this doom
Of being able to read people's mind
