Our lives are like fleets on a mighty ocean
Everyone with his own paddle
Stirring the course of destiny
Each bound for different homes
Few with the maps that chart their course
Many as mere captains
Bound for no man's country
We often fear the tides that may come
That tempest that can flounder
Our fantasies of golden horizons ashore
The treasures of unexplored days yonder
We pray in the secret of our cabin
That when at last the oars are laid to rest
We might hit the shore of satisfying fulfillment
The greatest happiness of all
Fellow sailors listen to the wave beneath your ship
It has either a message or a warning for you
I pray this sea called life
Will lead us home
I wish you what I wish *me*
Years without melancholy
Life without war
Death without regret
Amen
