Dark and still
I stand in the enchanted circle
In the haloed groove
Before the alter of the creation God
And the spirits of my ancestors
That lingers now among the stars above
Long has been my course
All roads in life lead here
At the threshold of fraternal rites
Soon the dew will bring down
The dawn in her pouch
I hear
A crack in the cry of the crow
A sudden stop of clapping thunders
I see
A splash of lightening
Flash across the thick forest
A rainbow coil around the moon
A sign that heaven is awake
My orison at this witching hour
Has ascended as blazing darts
On the ladders of fire
Deflating the fountains of the sky
Letting down a torrential rain of blessing
This night
I cease to be a boy
This night
I become a man
